This week I have been looking into mirrors. On reflection I am learning every day. Continuing my home reclamation project, I sourced my bedroom mirror. It is in three parts, fixed together with hinges so you get a view of different angles of the reflected object. My wife was disposing of it, so I thought it would be interesting to paint into it using acrylics. I have looked at the artist Gerhard Richter who did a lot of painting into mirrors and also used reflection. I thought I would take this to the next level.

I have painted the centrepiece of the mirror with another artist who I admire (Charles Bronson). Once I had completed his portrait I looked at the reflections of the angles and painted into the side mirrors. Then I painted again into the centre mirror again which made the paintings look very distorted form the opposing angles.
