Michaelangelo

I decided to do my version based on a portion of ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, which Michaelangelo produced by lying on his back over a four year period between 1508 to 1512.

Michelangelo painted scenes from the Bible onto the different divisions of the vaulted ceiling, which he used to arrange the compositions (https://www.khanacademy.org/humanities/ap-art-history/early-europe-and-colonial-americas/renaissance).

He took a year long break in 1510, and his style following this is considerably different from previously.

One of the main purposes of the composition was to act as a place for cardinals of the Catholic Church to meet to elect a new pope.
