Scottie Wilson was an outsider artist who started his career at the later age of 44 after serving in the war, where he opened up a second-hand shop in Toronto, Canada. This is where he began drawing with pens whilst listening to Mendelson.
"Wilson drew prolifically, in a mode much like that of Spiritualist mediums".
His drawings include compositions of faces and figures that emerge from an unstable ground; the images seem alive but static. His work includes birds and animals.
