Pop Art was a movement that came about in the 1950s/1960s in British and American Culture. It was a way that youths could express themselves through a different form of art. The works included a variety of bright colours, bold text and images, which were used in popular culture such as magazines/comics. Artists who influenced Pop Art were Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
Some of my artwork was inspired by the Miners Strike of 1986, and took a similar approach, as mine represented tins of beef that we were given in the Miners Strike.
