Trip To Chatsworth House
On Saturday 16th November 2016 i visited Chatsworth House, in the middle of the Country in the peak district.
The house is surrounded by beautiful grounds some of which supply food that is sold to keep the house self sustaining. The house is known for its beauty and the quality of art, that spans 4000 years, from ancient Roman and Egyptian sculptures. Work includes pieces from Rembrandt, Reynolds and Veronese expanding to modern artists like Lucian Freud, Edmund de Waal and David Nash.
I explored the 30 rooms, from the magnificent painted halls, regal State Rooms, restored Sketch Galleries and beautiful Sculpture Gallery.
I was intrigued by Lucian Freud's work, Head of a woman, as I am currently working on a lot of portraiture
Head of a Woman ( Portrait of Lady Anne Tree ) by Lucian Freud cica 1950
Cecil Beaton composed a vintage photograph 1930 showing "Fred and Adele Astaire" using mirrored photography to get the following result.
His experimentation reminded me of my own work with mirrors.
