As shown in my previous works, I like to use different textures and surfaces for my artwork. While researching I came across American Gothic (1930) by Grant Wood that was painted on a light construction board called "Beaverboard". I decided to revisit using wood as an artistic surface.

Graham Bowes, the wodwork and metalwork technician gave me 11 pound pieces of wood cut from a tree trunk. Each piece is approximately, 15cm in diameter. The troubles between North Korea and the United States of America have been escalating, and it was on my mind. The only way to get it out of my system was to paint. I used the electric sander on the 11 pieces of wood to get them nice and smooth. I downloaded a picture of Kim Jong Un, and I painted his picture onto the first piece of wood.

On the second piece of wood, I painted President Trump.

On the third piece I painted President Putin of Russia.

The fourth painting was of Thersa May, Britain's Prime Minister.

The next painting was of the Chinese Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister of Iraq came next.

The next one was the Prime Minister of Syria

The final one in this selection, which I thought was appropriate was Charles Bronson.

The reason I thought it was appropriate to include him was because he is in prison and they say he is dangerous, but we need to consider who is the most dangerous: Charles Bronson, or those who are running our countries?
